This waterproofed vase has an interesting tale to tell. In its first form the wood was a dresser; a dresser that fell into ruin. John saw an opportunity to rescue and reclaim the beech and poplar wood. He cut hundreds of strips and laminated them together before they were turned on his lathe. To add interest he added redwood to the top and bottom and inserted a multi-colored ring of purple heart, yellow heart, cedar, redwood, cedar, and padauk. The vase is 5.75 inches high, 3 inches wide, and has a 1.5 inch opening.
